Description
Critics and audiences alike were taken aback by this contemporary gothic romance set within the dark steel jungle of Manhattan. Borrowing the title of the classic tale, this highly original series remains a cult hit today. Linda Hamilton stars as wealthy New York City lawyer Catherine Chandler, a woman obsessed with work and staying ahead of the pack in a male-dominated profession. Ron Perlman is Vincent, a half-man/half-beast who comes from a secret world that exists in the dark underground of the city streets. The two very different souls collide when Catherine is attacked and left for dead in Central Park one dark night. Vincent finds and saves her and their lives are changed forever. The stories continue with Catherine fighting for justice and Vincent serving as a guardian from the shadows. The heart of the show, however, relies on the bond that grows between these two very different individuals, a bond that is stronger than friendship or love.
