Description
Based on the best-selling books by Laura Ingalls Wilder, this classic television series debuted on NBC on September 11th, 1974. Telling the moving and often gripping tales of the Ingalls, a young pioneer family, as they struggle to build a new life for themselves on the American Frontier of the 1870’s, the series, starring Michael Landon of Bonanza fame, captured the hearts of viewers around the world. The series opens with Pa (Landon) and Ma Ingalls (Karen Grassle) alone and with very little money, as they move their family to Minnesota and fight to build their new home. Other highlights of this debut season include, Mr. Edwards being reunited with the Ingalls, with Charles convincing him to settle in Walnut Grove. Caroline gives birth to a baby boy who dies soon afterwards. The town is put under quarantine due to a serious illness. The entire family nearly perishes in a blizzard but is saved thanks to the kindness of an Indian friend. Many exciting adventures follow and each is presented, uncut and in their original form!
